Big Strides and Team Spirit

At The Marylhurst School, our after-school cross country enrichment class has been a joyous adventure. Week after week, students continue to impress us with their enthusiasm and determination. Students have shown incredible sportsmanship by cheering on teammates and pushing themselves to their capacity. Every child has contributed to the supportive team environment.

One of the most inspiring parts of the program has been watching students care for and motivate one another. Team members encourage each other to work through discomfort while also learning to listen to their bodies and problem-solve together. Students have supported one another in deciding when a break is needed, when to stop for water, when stretching will help, and when they are ready to keep pushing forward.

Throughout the season, students have also been working toward individual running milestones that they are excited to share and celebrate, including completing two full track loops (1.64 miles) or running one loop (.8 miles) in under 10 minutes. Some students have challenged themselves further by setting impressive personal benchmarks beyond these accomplishments. Every goal represents perseverance and personal growth.

We are incredibly proud of all our runners for the energy and positivity they have brought to the program. Watching students challenge themselves, encourage their peers, and discover what they are capable of has been a true highlight of the season.
