Ruth Hovecamp
Ruth grew up all over Oregon, an avid learner and adventurer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities and creative writing from the University of Oregon and spent a few years freelance writing on both the East and West coasts. Ruth began her teaching career concurrently commencing a Master of Arts in Teaching program in elementary education at Western Governors University and found ardor for the collaborative and transformative journey of learning and teaching. Ruth believes that we grow and learn to our fullest when we are connected - to ourselves, each other, and our world. She is thrilled to be on the team at Marylhurst, where these connected relationships are fostered through exploration, creation, common goals, and progressive thought. Ruth loves everything "outdoors" - including swimming, running, hiking, gardening. She enjoys painting, drawing, writing, reading, a good sunbath, and laughing with family.
