Under the Sea and Full of Joy: Our PCA Community Dance Was a Splashing Success!
On Friday, May 3, The Marylhurst School community dove into an evening of fun at our all-ages PCA Community Dance: Under the Sea Beach Bash. With 165 attendees filling the Redland Grange, the event was brimming with music, laughter, dancing, delicious food, and ocean-inspired wonder.
The Grange was transformed into an underwater world thanks to incredible decorations crafted by our talented volunteers. From jellyfish lanterns to shimmering coral reefs, every detail added to the magic of the night. Kids and grown-ups alike hit the dance floor, enjoyed tasty treats, and caught up with friends, all while soaking in the joyful community spirit that makes Marylhurst so special.
We are especially grateful to Beth Dereszynski, whose creativity and leadership brought this event to life. From coordinating the DJ and food to hosting multiple craft days, Beth’s vision and energy helped make Under the Sea a truly unforgettable evening. Thank you, Beth—and thank you to all the volunteers who contributed their time, talents, and smiles to this event!
Volunteer Reminder: If you brought food, helped with setup or cleanup, or contributed in any way, please remember to log your volunteer hours in FACTS.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s dance—and whatever theme makes a splash next!
