Liam Walker
Liam joined the faculty at The Marylhurst School in the fall of 2021 and became our music teacher in the fall of 2022. Liam holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish World Language from Portland State University. He has many years of experience writing, playing, and gigging in a variety of music groups. Liam completed his Level 1 training with the Portland Orff Schulwerk Association in the summer of 2022. Liam is a passionate musician and educator who recognizes the importance of forming meaningful connections with students in order to best serve each of their needs as individuals. Music class can be a place of extreme vulnerability and radical self-discovery. The power music has to change lives is not lost on Liam and he strives to honor that every day in the classroom. When he is not teaching or playing music Liam can be found on the occasional hike in the Columbia River gorge or watching his favorite teams the Seattle Kraken and Portland Timbers.
